Community Out Reach Programs

A team of special Educators and therapists from Disha are currently working on two ORPs i.e Early Intervention (E.I.) and Community Based Rehabilitation (C.B.R.) services. These services helped Disha to reach more families affected by disability. The E.I. service was stationed at Sanganer Community Health Centre (CHC) at the sub urban areas of Jaipur. The CBR services were conducted in two areas in the outskirts of Jaipur at Achrol and Benar Road.

Early Intervention(EI) early-intervention
Ongoing services with the objective of screening and identifying newborn, infants and children up to the age of 5 yrs were carried out a the CHC at Sanganer. The services are now entering their second year. On all Thursdays of every week, a team from Disha visits and conducts the screening, cases with risk factors are counseled and advised follow-ups. In the 1st year a total of 2039 cases were screened and 68 were identified at risk. In the 2nd yr of services the plan is to focus more on follow-ups and interventions.






Community Based Rehabilitation(CBR) early-interventionA time bound C.B.R. at Achrol was conducted from January 2011 to May 2011. A total of 32 cases were addressed for various issues. They were oriented to schemes like Niramaya- Health insurance policy and Legal Guardianship. Primary intervention and counseling for the disability related issues were also carried out. At Benar Road Railway Station at ‘Naya Savera’ an institute working for Children with disabilities . The CBR services were conducted from July to December’2011. A total of 44 cases were addressed by a team of professionals delivering services of awareness, facilitation of Government policies and primary intervention suggestions.
